Dance in the Dark was awarded Best Three-Year-Old Colt in Japan in 1996. He won the Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger) with a tremendous late kick, with Japanese Derby winner Fusaichi Concorde finishing 3rd.
Dance in the Dark entered stud in Japan in 1997. Among his best progeny are three Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger) winners: Three Rolls, Delta Blues, and That's the Plenty. Delta Blues is also well known as the Group 1 Melbourne Cup winner in 2006.
Dance in the Dark died in 2020 at the age of 27.
