Prognosis, by the Japanese legendary stallion Deep Impact and a half-brother to Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner Vorda, was a top-class performer who captured three graded races at 2000 meters on turf in Japan, namely the Grade 2 Sapporo Kinen and back-to-back victories in the Grade 2 Kinko Sho. On the international stage, he contested five Group 1 races, finishing 2nd in the Queen Elizabeth II Cup in Hong Kong for three consecutive years, twice behind Hong Kong hero Romantic Warrior.
