Kane Hekili was born in 2002. He is by Fuji Kiseki out of Life Out There by Deputy Minister.
Kane Hekili was awarded Best Dirt Horse in Japan in 2005 and 2008. At 3 he defeated the older horses to win the Japan Cup Dirt at Tokyo in a course record time. Although he was injured at 4 and rested for over two years, he returned to racing at 6 and scored three consecutive Grade 1 (Jpn1) victories: the Japan Cup Dirt, the Tokyo Daishoten, and the Kawasaki Kinen.
Kane Hekili entered stud in Japan in 2011. Among his best progeny are Listed (Jpn1) Kawasaki Kinen winner Mitsuba, Grade 3 Elm Stakes and Korea Cup (twice) winner London Town, and Grade 3 Capella Stakes winner Dios Corrida.
He died in 2016 at the age of 14.
