American Pharoah was awarded Horse of the Year in the U.S.A. in 2015, Champion Three-Year-Old Colt in the U.S.A. in 2015, and Champion Two-Year-Old Colt in the U.S.A. in 2014.
American Pharoah made history as the first American Triple Crown winner in 37 years, powering home in the Grade 1 Kentucky Derby by a length, the Grade 1 Preakness Stakes by seven lengths, and the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes by 5 1/2 lengths. In his final start, he achieved the "Grand Slam" of American horse racing by winning the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Classic by 6 1/2 lengths at Keeneland in a track-record time of 2:00.07. He also captured the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity and the Grade 1 FrontRunner Stakes at 2 as well as the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby and the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational Stakes at 3.
American Pharoah entered stud entered stud in the U.S.A. in 2016. He moved to Japan for the 2026 season.
Among his best progeny are Riff Rocket, who won the Group 1 Victoria Derby, the Group 1 Australian Derby, and the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas; Cafe Pharoah, who took the Grade 1 February Stakes (twice); Above the Curve, who captured the Group 1 Prix Saint-Alary; and Van Gogh, who won the Group 1 Criterium International.
