Opera House was awarded Champion Older Horse in Europe in 1993. Opera House recorded three consecutive Group 1 victories in the Coronation Cup, the Eclipse Stakes, and the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Opera House entered stud in Japan in 1994. Among his best progeny are Japanese Horse of the Year, Japan Cup, Arima Kinen (Grand Prix), Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) winner T.M. Opera O, Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby) and Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) winner Meisho Samson.
Opera House died in 2016 at the age of 28.
