Espoir City was born in 2005. He is by Gold Allure out of Eminent City by Brian's Time.
Espoir City was awarded Best Dirt Horse in Japan in 2009 and 2010. With his high cruising speed, he won seven Grade 1 (Jpn1) races over 1600 meters. He earned more than one billion Yen and held the tie record for most Grade 1 (Jpn1) wins with nine in Japan before Hokko Tarumae captured the record-breaking 10th Grade 1 (Jpn1) win in 2016.
Espoir City entered stud in Japan in 2014. He has sired some good winners including Vacation, who won the Listed (Jpn1) Zennippon Nisai Yushun; Memory Ko, who finished 3rd in the Grade 2 Tokai Stakes and the Grade 3 March Stakes; and Shomu, who finished 2nd in the Listed Green Channel Cup.
