Silver State was born in 2013. He is by Deep Impact out of Silverskaya by Silver Hawk.
Silver State broke his maiden by five lengths in his second start and easily won the next outing. Following these wins, he was considered one of the favorites in the Japanese Classic races but unfortunately was injured in January at 3. After a long layoff, he won two races in a row in dominant fashion at 4, showing the ability he possessed, but he was injured again and retired to stud.
Silver State entered stud in Japan in 2018.
Among his best progeny are Eeyan, who won the Grade 2 New Zealand Trophy; Lavanda, who took the Grade 2 Ireland Trophy; Seiun Hades, who won the Grade 3 Tanabata Sho and the Grade 3 Epsom Cup; and Water Navillera, who took the Grade 3 Fantasy Stakes and finished 2nd in the Grade 1 Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas).
