Grass Wonder was born in 1995. He is by Silver Hawk out of Ameriflora by Danzig.
Grass Wonder was awarded Best Two-Year-Old Colt in Japan in 1997 and Special Award in Japan in 1999. He was unbeaten in four starts and won the Asahi Hai Sansai Stakes at 2. He registered back-to-back wins in the Arima Kinen (Grand Prix) at 3 and 4, and also captured the Takarazuka Kinen at 4.
Grass Wonder entered stud in Japan in 2001. Among his best progeny are Screen Hero, Japan Cup winner and the sire of the 2015 Horse of the Year in Japan Maurice, Takarazuka Kinen winner Earnestly, and Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes winner Seiun Wonder.
