Pyro was born in 2005. He is by Pulpit out of Wild Vision by Wild Again.
Good stretch runner Pyro won the Grade 1 Forego stakes at 4, and won three graded events including the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby at 3. His sire Pulpit, a son of North American Champion Sire A.P. Indy, is well known as a sire of sires, siring North American Champion Sire Tapit.
Pyro entered stud in Japan in 2010.
In 2021, Mutually captured the Listed (Jpn1) JBC Classic and was awarded NAR Horse of the Year. In 2022, Meisho Hario landed the Listed (Jpn1) Teio Sho beating Champions Cup hero Chuwa Wizard. In 2023, Meisho Hario added two more Listed (Jpn1) victories to his CV by winning the Teio Sho and the Kashiwa Kinen. Meisho Hario also won the 2021 Grade 3 Miyako Stakes and the 2022 Grade 3 March Stakes.
Among his other best progeny are Kenshinko, who won the Grade 3 Leopard Stakes; B B Barrel, who captured the Grade 3 Fairy Stakes; and Derma Louvre, who won the Listed (Jpn2) Nagoya Grand Prix.
