Lemon Pop, one of the best sons of Belmont Stakes and Travers Stakes winner Lemon Drop Kid and from the family of multiple champion sire Danehill, captured his first elite-level victory in the Grade 1 February Stakes as a 5-year-old and went on to win the Listed (Jpn1) Mile Championship Nambu Hai by two seconds and the Grade 1 Champions Cup in the same year. At 6, he added the Listed (Jpn1) Sakitama Hai and the Listed (Jpn1) Mile Championship Nambu Hai to his resume, before capping his career with a victory in the Grade 1 Champions Cup. He was a dominant force in the Japanese dirt division, going undefeated in six starts in Grade 1 (Jpn1) company in Japan.
