Epiphaneia, a son of Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks) and the Grade 1 American Oaks winner Cesario, easily won the Grade 1 Japan Cup by four lengths over Just a Way, who is the devastating winner of the 2014 Group 1 Dubai Duty Free. He also took the Grade 1 Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger) and was second in both the Grade 1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) and the Grade 1 Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby). He was rated 129 and second to Just a Way in the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings of 2014.
Epiphaneia entered stud in Japan in 2016 (Note: He stood on Southern Hemisphere time in Japan in 2015). His first crop hit the track in 2019.
In 2020, his first crop daughter Daring Tact captured the Grade 1 Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas), the Grade 1 Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks), and the Grade 1 Shuka Sho, and became the first undefeated winner of the Japanese Filly Triple Crown. She also was awarded Best Three-Year-Old Filly in Japan.
In 2021, his brilliant son Efforia was crowned Horse of the Year in Japan by winning the Grade 1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas), the Grade 1 Tenno Sho (autumn), and the Grade 1 Arima Kinen (Grand Prix). Also in 2021, Circle of Life won the Grade 1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies and was awarded Best Two-Year-Old Filly in Japan.
