Satono Diamond was born in 2013. He is by Deep Impact out of Malpensa by Orpen.
Satono Diamond, by Champion sire Deep Impact and out of multiple Argentine Group 1 winner Malpensa, scored his first Grade 1 win in the Grade 1 Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger), the final jewel of the Japanese Triple Crown. He went on to win the Grade 1 Arima Kinen (Grand Prix), beating two-time Japanese Horse of the Year Kitasan Black, and was awarded Best Three-Year-Old Colt in Japan. He also won the Grade 2 Kyoto Daishoten, the Grade 2 Hanshin Daishoten, the Grade 2 Kobe Shimbun Hai, and the Grade 3 Kisaragi Sho.
Satono Diamond entered stud in Japan in 2019. His first crop hit the track in 2022. He has sired some good winners including Satono Glanz, who won the Grade 2 Kyoto Shimbun Hai and the Grade 2 Kobe Shimbun Hai; Shinryokuka, who finished 2nd in the Grade 1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies; and Suzu Khalom, who finished 3rd in the Grade 2 Keio Hai Spring Cup.
