Showing plenty of early speed, Smart Falcon won 19 Graded (Jpn) races and holds the record for career Graded (Jpn) races wins in Japan. His victories include the Grade 1 Tokyo Daishoten and JBC Classic. When he won the 2010 Tokyo Daishoten, he posted a Japanese record time of 2:00.4, which is 0.6 seconds faster than the previous best mark for 2000m on dirt.

In 2024, Shamal won the Listed (Jpn1) Kashiwa Kinen. He also won five other Listed (Jpn3) races: the 2023 and 2024 Kurofune Sho, the 2022 Tele Tama Hai Oval Sprint, the 2022 Summer Champion, and the 2022 Tokyo Sprint.
