Benbatl was born in 2014. He is by Dubawi out of Nahrain by Selkirk.
Benbatl, a son of the most successful British stallion in history with over 300 individual Stakes winners and GB/IRE and French Champion Sire Dubawi, picked up three Group 1 prizes on three different countries: the Dubai Turf in UAE, the Grosser Dallmayr Preis in Germany, and the Caulfield Stakes in Australia. He also showed his versatility on dirt when winning the Group 2 Al Maktoum Challenge R2 and finishing 2nd in the Saudi Cup. His dam Nahrain won the Group 1 Prix de l'Opera and the Grade 1 Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes, and his half-sister Elmalka took the Group 1 1000 Guineas.
Benbatl entered stud in Japan in 2022. His first crop hit the track in 2025. He has sired some good winners, including Coronado Bridge, Make One's Day, and Beret Basque.
