Just a Way was born in 2009. He is by Heart's Cry out of Sibyl by Wild Again.
Just a Way was awarded Best Older Horse in Japan in 2014. He blew away the competition in the Group 1 Dubai Duty Free by a devastating 6 1/4 lengths and secured the No. 1 spot in Longine's World's Best Racehorse Rankings with a rating of 130 in 2014. In doing so, he became the first Japanese trained or Japanese bred horse to be rated as the world's best. He also took the 2013 Grade 1 Tenno Sho (autumn), beating Gentildonna by four lengths, and the 2014 Grade 1 Yasuda Kinen in the mud.
Just a Way entered stud in Japan in 2015. His first crop hit the track in 2018.
In 2020 Danon the Kid won the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes and became the first Grade 1 winner for his sire. He also was awarded Best Two-Year-Old Colt in Japan. In 2021 Teorema captured the Listed (Jpn1) JBC Ladies' Classic.
Among his other best progeny are Epos, who won the Grade 2 Fillies' Revue; Lord My Way, who won the Grade 3 Challenge Cup; Admire Justa, who won the Grade 3 Hakodate Kinen; and A Will a Way, who won the Grade 3 Silk Road Stakes.
He was crowned Japanese Champion Freshman Sire in 2018.
