Just a Way was born in 2009. He is by Heart's Cry out of Sibyl by Wild Again.
Just a Way was awarded Best Older Horse in Japan in 2014. He blew away the competition in the Group 1 Dubai Duty Free by a devastating 6 1/4 lengths and secured the No. 1 spot in Longine's World's Best Racehorse Rankings with a rating of 130 in 2014. In doing so, he became the first Japanese trained or Japanese bred horse to be rated as the world's best. He also took the Grade 1 Tenno Sho (autumn), beating Gentildonna by four lengths, and the Grade 1 Yasuda Kinen in the mud.
Just a Way entered stud in Japan in 2015. Among his best progeny are Danon the Kid, who won the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes and was awarded Best Two-Year-Old Colt in Japan; Epos, who won the Grade 2 Fillies' Revue; and Teorema, who captured the Listed (Jpn1) JBC Ladies' Classic.
He was crowned Japanese Champion Freshman Sire in 2018.
