Mikki Isle was awarded Best Sprinter or Miler in Japan in 2016. The brilliant son of Japanese super sire Deep Impact set a Japanese 2yo record time of 1:32.3 over 1600m on turf when he broke maiden at second asking. He established himself as a top miler of his generation with victory in the Grade 1 NHK Mile Cup at 3. Then at 5, he added another Grade 1 victory when he won the Grade 1 Mile Championship in wire-to-wire fashion.
Mikki Isle entered stud in Japan in 2017. Among his best progeny are Meikei Yell, who captured six graded races including the Grade 2 Tulip Sho, the Grade 2 Keio Hai Spring Cup, and the Grade 2 Centaur Stakes; Namura Clair, who took the Grade 3 Keeneland Cup, the Grade 3 Hakodate Sprint Stakes, the Grade 3 Silk Road Stakes, and the Grade 3 Kokura Nisai Stakes; and La La Christine, who captured the Grade 3 Kyoto Himba Stakes.
