Silver State was born in 2013. He is by Deep Impact out of Silverskaya by Silver Hawk.
Silver State broke his maiden by five lengths in his second start and easily won the next outing. Following these wins, he was considered one of the favorites in the Japanese Classic races but unfortunately was injured in January at 3. After long layoff, he won dominantly two races in a row at 4 showing what sort of ability he's got, but got injured again and retired to stud.
Silver State entered stud in Japan in 2018. His first crop hit the track in 2021. He has made a bright start to his stud career, with the 2021 Grade 3 Fantasy Stakes winner and the second-place finisher in the 2022 Grade 1 Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas) Water Navillera flying the flag for him.
He has also sired some good winners including Eeyan, who won the Grade 2 New Zealand Trophy; Seiun Hades, who won the Listed Principal Stakes and finished 2nd in the Grade 3 Niigata Daishoten; and Shonan Bashitto, who took the Listed Wakaba Stakes.
