Satono Crown was born in 2012. He is by Marju out of Jioconda by Rossini.
Satono Crown captured his first top-flight victory in the Group 1 Hong Kong Vase when he defeated seven-time Grade/Group 1 winner Highland Reel by a half-length with a dramatic charge at 4, and earned his second Gr.1 victory in the Grade 1 Takarazuka Kinen at 5. He also won the Grade 3 Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes at 2, the Grade 2 Yayoi Sho at 3, and the Grade 2 Kyoto Kinen at 4 and 5.
Satono Crown entered stud in Japan in 2019. His first crop hit the track in 2022.
In 2023, his first crop colt Tastiera bested Grade 1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) winner Sol Oriens in the Grade 1 Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby). He also won the Grade 2 Yayoi Sho Deep Impact Kinen.
Among his other best progeny are Tosen Laurier, who took the Listed Anemone Stakes, and Uvarovite, who won the Listed Sweetpea Stakes.
