Matera Sky, one of the fastest sons of American Champion Sprinter and great sire Speightstown, posted a Japanese record time of 1:20.3 over 1400 meters on dirt at Chukyo when winning the Grade 3 Procyon Stakes by four lengths. He set another Japanese record time of 1:08.5 over 1200 meters on dirt at Morioka when he landed the Listed (Jpn3) Cluster Cup. He also showed a burst of speed outside Japan and finished 2nd in the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen, the Riyadh Dirt Sprint, and the Saudia Cup.
Matera Sky entered stud in Japan in 2022. His first foals are yearlings of 2024.
